Yes I slack
Its been ages since i've written!
My dog "bart" got hit by a car and killed a couple of weeks ago, and I was absolutely devastated. I'm not really the crying type, haven't cried properly in years, but I couldn't stop crying for a couple of days. He was my best friend, and constant companion for the last 6 years so its been a huge adjustment being without him. I keep expected to see him everywhere.
I have so many fun happy memories of him, that I still find myself talking about him all the time, and the crazy things he use to get up to. I know I'm bias but everyone else who met him seem to think he was the coolest dog ever.
He was a little black and white foxy, and his favourite things included:
being/travelling in cars - any car door open, he'd be straight in and sitting on the drivers seat wagging his tail at you
squeaky toys - they drove him berseck if you stood on one and keep squeaking it with your foot, and anytime he'd hear a squeak, he would come running
chasing cats - think he hated them more that anything else, esp the cats who would just stare him down and not run. Rabbits were extreme fun to chase too.
going for walks - he would trot along occasionally glancing back adoringly, and if he was off the leash then he would run back often to check we were still there.
We use to love hiding from him, we'd throw a stick and climb up a tree. At first he would only look at eye level, but he got smarted and learnt to look down banks and up trees.
He had little man syndrome and thought he could take on any dog out there, so he usual tried to be the boss.
He was the greatest, and I miss him lots.
On a weight loss front, I have a new plan! I'm not overly concerned about my weight.... well I would be if I put on weight! But I don't look that bad, however I know I could lose a couple of kilos and look better. One thing I have learnt and everyone constantly tells you is that it must be a lifestyle thing. So I don't think theres any point going on a drastic diet because it wouldn't be something I could sustain. I eat relatively healthy most of the time, just too much. So my idea was pretty simple.
Keep eating the same foods.
Only 2 slices of bread a day.
Wait 3 hours between meals and/or snacks. I believe for me it might be as simple as that. I find myself hungry again after 2 hours so am constantly picking and stuffing my face all day. Now I have brekky around 8:30-9, lunch between 12-1, snack 3-4 and dinner 6-8. So far it seems to be working too, because I tell myself I have to wait 3 hours, I'm eating less but still getting lots of food. This is what I had today:
Brekky: Porridge
Lunch: Two slices of vogels with avocado and tomato. One banana
Mid arvo: One Signature Range Bar (the twist ones are yum!), 2 mini 100's and 1000's biccies.
Dinner: Warm salad (lettuce, feta, roasted veges, stirfried chicken)
And a milo.
Plus a couple of coffees and a fruit tea.
So I don't wake up hungry in the morning, but I'm sure I must be losing a little weight. I'm a big bread scoffer the slices a day restriction helps me contain that. I don't believe theres anything wrong with eating more bread, I just know it doesn't fill me up, and I prefer it with butter.
Of course the big challenge will be the wkends, but I'm sure I can get it right 80% of the time.
Anyway, I plan on blogging a lot more often and commenting on other peoples blogs too. This is something I've been guilty of not doing even though I've been reading them for years.
Howdy doody.
